PLANS

There are much subjects to do to continue with the investigation of the genealogy of the Moises Ville families, and I will do this task if time and means allow it. It is a subject that will interest to the future generations, regarding the familiar history, and with regard to the history of Moises Ville and of the Jewish agricultural colonization in Argentina.

There are several interesting points to develop:

  • The translation of the Pinjas Glasberg's book. Between 1891 and 1899, year in which the Civil Registry Office of Moises Ville was created, this colonist of the Weser wrote down in a very dificult handwriting, a mixture of Yiddish and Hebrew, the vital events of the colony, births, marriages and deaths. As I know it has never been published nor translated, perhaps this one would be a good opportunity, in Israel no lacks who can do it.

  • The investigation of the Registry File of Moises Ville. There is a copy of that registry in Israel, that includes records from its foundation in 1899 until 1921. The access, its reading and interpretation and its possible transfer to a computer file, are all they difficult tasks that it is worth the trouble to make.

  • The translation to English and Hebrew of Noe Cociovich's book, Génesis de Moises Ville. In that book many names related to the history of the colony are mentioned, in addition the history in itself is very interesting and pleasant. Many of the descendants of the first colonists will find there to their ancestors if they know his genealogy.

  • The investigation of the files of Jewish Colonization Association (JCA), kept in the Central Archives of History of the Jewish People, Jerusalem. In these files we will find much information on the first times of the colony, lists of groups of colonists that not yet we have, their family and location in the colony, dates of abandonment of that, lists of students of the rural schools founded by the JCA, letters from colonists. In the genealogical aspect there is much information.

  • To interview descendants of old inhabitants of Moises Ville, already identified and located in Israel, and to many others that surely will appear. This will serve to extend our list of names, to complete and to correct data, to incorporate new families and to tie new links of kinships until now unknown.

  • To locate descending of not yet built-in families, and to ask for their collaboration to include them in this work.

  • To investigate those arrived in the colony after 1906: Rumanian, German and Dutch colonists' groups that arrived until the decade of the 50's, and the artisans, merchants and professionals, that is to say, non colonists that have integrated from the biginning the great moisesviller family.  In fact there is work for an entire life, and the time is not maybe enough.

For all this is needed support: good will of the readers and interviewees, and resources. See here how You can collaborate.
